Griffin wasn’t the only player scoring in double figures on Tuesday night. Ella Baker scored 12 points, including a three-pointer.

Scoring was hard to come by for both teams in the first quarter. A total of five points were scored in the first, four of which came from the Lady Eagles.

Shots started to fall a bit more regularly in the second quarter. Baker accumulated seven points in the second, helping the Eagles outscore the Flying Squadron 12-7. The Eagles took a 16-8 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Flying Squadron accumulated just 10 second-half points. Griffin’s 19 second-half points helped the Eagles secure their comfortable win.

Harmony Robinson, Briona Burden, Charlotte Lee, Alexia Tillery and Jamecia Berry each had two points.

The Eagles will be back in action on Thursday when they host Brantley.

The Pike Liberal Arts Lady Patriots stayed within shouting distance of the Gators, but couldn’t crawl all the way back in their loss to Glenwood on Tuesday night.

The loss for the Patriots is their fifth straight loss and their seventh on the season.

The Patriots found themselves down by 10 in the fourth quarter before untimely turnovers allowed the Gators to pull away from the Patriots in the end.

Two Patriot players finished in double figures in the loss. Tanna Singleton finished the game with a team-high 13 points, while Ansley Adams had 11. Tiffany Jonson finished with seven points and Shelby Renfroe had four.
