PCHS ends regular season and winning streak

The Pike County Bulldogs saw their eight game winning streak come to an end on Friday night when they fell Sweet Water 40-6.

The loss gives the Bulldogs an overall record of 8-2 on the season.

The Bulldogs found themselves down 28-0 before reaching halftime.

Sweet Water had a one-yard touchdown to kickoff the scoring. They also had two rushing touchdowns from three yards out and one from 20 to go in the half leading 28-0.

The Bulldogs scored their only touchdown of the night in the third quarter when Rayshawn Reynolds took a handoff 15 yards for the touchdown to bring the score to 28-6.

A 24-yard touchdown pass, followed up by a 2-yard touchdown run clinched the game for Sweet Water.

The Bulldogs will now turn their sites to the Class 3A State Playoffs. They open up the post season with a home game against Oakman beginning at 7 p.m. next Friday night.
