Patriots win finale

The Pike Liberal Arts Patriots closed out the regular season with a 28-21 win over Lakeside on Friday night.
The win for the Patriots gives them an overall record of 10-1 on the season.
The Patriots jumped out to a 28-6 lead, but had to hold on late to secure their 10th win of the season.
The Patriots jumped on the board first when Chip Faircloth took a handoff 18 yards for a touchdown giving the Patriots a 7-0 lead with 8:21 to go in the first quarter.
Nearly a quarter later, Faircloth scored his second touchdown of the game, this time from 76 yards out and the Patriots led 14-0 with 11:46 left in the first half.
The Chiefs scored on their next drive to cut their deficit down to 8 at 14-6 with 9:49 remaining in the second quarter.
Jade Sikes scored on a two-yard touchdown run to put the Patriots up 21-6 with 3:35 remaining in the third.
Faircloth scored his third touchdown of the contest from one-yard out to put the Patriots up 28-6 with 8:44 remaining in the game.
The Chiefs scored 15 unanswered points, but no more and the Patriots held on to win.
The Patriots will open up the playoffs next week. They will host Glenwood beginning at 7 p.m.
