The Charles Henderson Junior Varsity Trojans knocked off the Geneva Panthers on Monday night to finish off the season with a perfect 7-0 record.

The JV Trojans spend a lot of their season practicing with the varsity Trojans. On Monday nights in the fall, it’s their time to shine.

“I’m just excited about those guys,” said varsity head coach Brad McCoy. “They practice every day just like the older guys. They need the opportunity to play. Monday night is their opportunity to do that and shine.”

Many of the JV Trojans had their fair share off success at the middle school level. Now with the JV Trojans, they took pride in their team.

“We have a lot of younger guys on this team,” McCoy said. “They took a lot of pride in their JV games on Monday night and it showed with their 5-0 record.”

The roster included guys that liked to have fun on Monday night including quarterback Camron Foley, someone who could be making an impact on the varsity squad in the near future.

“He was a new addition to this team,” McCoy said. “He has really come on and he is going to be a really exciting sophomore to watch. We had some other guys that made plays and they just had fun. They got out and they knew it wasn’t practice anymore and they had a chance to play.

“I was just extremely proud of all our coaches and JV guys alike. They really deserved all of that success.”
