The Pike County Lady Bulldogs picked up their sixth win of the season on Tuesday afternoon when they swept Barbour County in front of the student body.

After a rusty start, the Bulldogs knocked off the Jaguars 25-19, 25-13 and 25-10. The win for the Bulldogs brings their record on the season to 6-6.

“We were a little rusty because the hurricane threw us all off,” Reynolds said. “This time of year, you get teams having to shuffle around. I knew we were going to be rusty going in and that is why we were shaky in that first set. We started to get in a groove and we started to play pretty well in that second set.

Senkeithia Thompson led the Bulldogs with 19 service points and five blocks, while Precious Vaznaian finished with 15 service points and 22 kills.

“We were getting the ball to our spikers,” Reynolds said. “We were being active on the loose balls and our serves were consistent in the second and third sets. Those were some good points.”

The Bulldogs will close out the season on Thursday on senior night against New Brockton. They will open up the area tournament on Monday against Straughn in Opp beginning at 1 p.m.
