Eagle comeback falls just short

The Goshen Eagles had the ball in the final minutes looking to tie the game against New Brockton on Friday night. The drive stalled and the Eagles fell to New Brockton 28-21 on Friday night.
The loss for the Eagles drops their record on the season to 2-2 overall and 2-1 in region play.
Quarterback Bryan Galloway finished the game with 11 completions in 21 attempts for 141 yards and had two touchdowns.
As a team, the Eagles rushed for a total of 52 yards led by Caleb Dawson’s 40. Galloway finished with 24.
JaMarkus Sanford led the way for the receiving core by hauling in five catches for 96 yards and a touchdown.
Dawson led the way on defense with seven combined tackles.
The Gamecocks stormed out to a 14-0 lead in the opening quarter. Goshen was able to cut into their deficit when Galloway connected with Sanford on a 33-yard touchdown pass to bring the score to 14-7.
Goshen evened the score at 14 in the third quarter when Dawson took a handoff seven yards for a touchdown.
Like they did in the first quarter, the Gamecocks scored 14 unanswered points in the third to take a 28-14 lead into the fourth quarter.
Galloway threw his second touchdown of the game to bring the the Eagles back to within seven points. He connected with Dakarai Pelton for a 28-yard touchdown completion.
With time dwindling down, the Eagles picked up a big fumble recovery, giving them possession on their own 14 yard line. They struggled to get anything going and turned the ball over on downs to give the Gamecocks the win.
The Eagles will be back in action next Friday night when they host Georgiana beginning at 7 p.m. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Eagles Stadium..
