The Goshen Eagles volleyball team began area play with a three-game sweep of the Luverne Tigers on Tuesday night.

The Eagles (5-4, 1-0) defeated the Tigers 25-5, 25-12, 25-18.

Olivia Kyzar finished with four aces, five point scored, one kill, three assists and one dig. Lydia Harrison had 10 aces, 16 points scored and one kill. Kate Warrick completed the match with two aces, eight points scored, three kills and six assists.

Hannah Calhoun finished with six aces, nine points scored, one kill and three digs. Molly Wares had three aces, 10 points scored, one kill and five digs, while Anastasia Mallard finished with six kills.

The junior high Eagles won their match against the Tigers 25-21 and 25-22. The Junior Varsity Eagles fell to Luverne 19-25, 25-10 and 7-15.

Both the varsity and junior varsity will be in action against Charles Henderson this afternoon.
