Henderson and Samuel suspended indefinitely

It wasn’t all good news for Troy head coach Neal Brown and the Trojans on Saturday evening. Prior to Troy’s 59-7 win over Florida A&M, the Trojans announced the suspensions of running back Jamarius Henderson and receiver Traveon Samuel for a violation of team rules.

Coach Brown didn’t elaborate which rules were broken, but did say they will be out indefinitely, including this weekend’s game against Nebraska.

“They are suspended for a violation of team rules,” Brown said. “They will not be back next week. There are some requirements they have to meet to return, but they will not be available next week.”

Henderson was looked at to be one of Troy’s leading running backs this season. He finished the 2017 season with 355 yards on 45 carries and had four touchdowns.

Samuel transferred to Troy from Louisville in the offseason. The senior wide receiver caught three passes for 10 yards in week one’s loss to Boise State.
