Troy Belles start World Series 2-0

The Troy Belles started the Dixie Mega World Series with a 2-0 record after they defeated Louisiana 6-4 on Sunday afternoon.

The Troy Belles began the tournament on Saturday morning with a 19-3 win over Florida.

Morgan Bundy pitched three innings and struck out three against Florida. She was followed in the circle by Stella Gilbreath, who pitched the final two innings.

Ally Rushing got the start for Post 70 in their win against Louisiana on Sunday. Rushing pitched all seven innings and allowed two walks, but struck out nine.

The Belles scored their first run in the first inning. McKenzie Cain led off the inning with a double and came around to score.

After the Belles scored their second run in the fifth, the big inning occurred in the seventh when the Belles scored their final four runs. Troy had their first four batters reach and all came around to score, putting the game out of reach.
