Hayden Wilson is nearing her second season running the Pike Liberal Arts volleyball program. On June 25, she will host her first volleyball camp on campus.
The camp will run a total of three days between June 25, 26 and the 28. Each session will last two hours.
Each camper will not only get instruction from the Patriot players and coaches, but from a 7A high school coach as well.
“We are really excited about it,” Wilson said. “The older kids are going to be influential to the younger kids. We are going to have Callie White from Enterprise High School. She is going to help us host the camp. The team will be able to split up with the age levels. We will be able to critique some things and show them different things for those different age levels.”
The camp will heavily feature drills and fundamental work.
“Basically, we are going to offer instruction,” Wilson said. “Most of the time kids don’t get the experience with volleyball unless they play at a club level. It’s good to get girls to experience a camp like this.”
The camp will offer the campers an opportunity to tackle game-like situations throughout. The price of the camp will be $50 per camper and it will include a t-shirt and they will also get to attend a volleyball game this season.
“They will get free admission to that game,” Wilson said. “They will be able to come in and wear their t-shirts from the camp. They can watch the girls play in the game.”
