Patriots throttle Emmanuel

The Pike Patriots shut out Emmanuel Christian 14-0 on Tuesday afternoon in Dothan.
The win for the Patriots improves their record on the season to 22-4.
Jade Sikes got the start for the Patriots in the win. Sikes pitched just the first inning. He allowed two hits before striking out the side. Wood Jinright came in to pitch the next innings. He allowed two hits and struck out two batters. Jaquavian Johnson finished off the last inning by striking out two batters.
The Patriots outhit Emmanuel 16-4. Seven batters – Cody Hollis, Davis Allen, Reed Jinright, Wood Jinright, Nathan Renfroe, Sikes and Copeland – finished with two hits. Hollis, Reed Jinright, Wood Jinright, Renfroe, Trevor Barron and Copeland all had two RBI.
The Patriots jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning. The Patriots had RBI hits by Reed and Wood Jinright, Renfroe and Trevor Barron.
The Patriots blew the game wide open in the third inning when they posted 9 runs on 10 hits, including doubles by Hollis and Sikes.
The Patriots will be back in action on Thursday when they host rival Fort Dale. The junior varsity baseball and softball teams will begin the day at 4 p.m. The two varsity squads will play shortly after.
