10 early runs lift Trojans in win over Greenville

The Charles Henderson Lady Trojans scored 10 runs in the first two innings in their 17-0 win over area foe Greenville on Tuesday night.
The win for the Trojans brings their record on the season to 6-7-1.
Emma Kirkpatrick got the call as the Trojans starter. Kirkpatrick pitched the first two innings of the contest without allowing a run or a hit while striking out three.
Rose Snyder came in and pitched the final two innings. She allowed just two hits and struck out four.
The Trojans finished with 11 hits in the win. Three Trojans players finished the game with more than one hit. Ashlyn Shaver led the way at the plate by going 3-3 with an RBI. Gracie Williams and Molly Kate Sanders each went 2-4 and drove in six combined runs.
The Trojans sprinted out the gates early in the first when they stormed out to a 4-0 lead. Williams knocked in her first two RBIs when the singled to center to score Sydni Garrett and Tucker Earles. Williams came around to score on an an error by the Tiger shortstop. Shaver drove in the final run of the inning on a single center to score Sanders.
A six run second inning allowed the Trojans to breathe comfortably. The Trojans had four hits in the inning along with four walks. Williams drove in her third and fourth runs of the game on a single to center to bring the score to 6-0. Sanders followed suit with a two-run single of her own to put the Trojans up 8-0. Madison Stewart hit the third and final two-run single of the inning to put the Trojans up 10-0.
In the third inning the Trojans had an RBI double by Sanders to go up 11-0 and Whittaka Lowery reached base safely on an error to drive in Sanders for the 13 run of the game.
Two errors, a wild pitch and a two-run homerun by Earles put the Trojans up 17-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth inning. After holding the Tigers scoreless the game ended after four innings of play.
The Trojans will host Rehobeth on Thursday afternoon.
