Hollis leads Goshen to overtime win over Central Hayneville

The Goshen Eagles pulled of a 75-70 overtime win over Central-Hayneville on Wednesday to advance to the Class 2A Area 6 championship.
The Eagles will take on the winner of Calhoun and Luverne in the championship on Friday night in Calhoun.
Michael Hollis, who has lead the Eagles in scoring the last two games, continued that trend on Thursday night when he scored 33 points, while Zack Alford added 21 points.
The Lions had the hot hand early in the opening half on Thursday. The Eagles outscored the Lions in the first quarter 15-10 before the Lions exploded for 29 points in the second quarter and took a 39-24 lead into halftime.
Alford scored 10 points in the third quarter as the Eagles outscored the Lions in the quarter 18-6. The Eagles cut into their deficit in the third and entered the fourth down just three at 45-42.
Hollis scored 9 points in the final quarter to help push the Eagles into overtime tied at 64.
Hollis added 7 more points in the extra session to help push the Eagles to a win.
The championship game will begin at 7 p.m.
