Lady Trojans knock off Eagles in season finale

The Charles Henderson Lady Trojans ended their regular season on a high note Friday when they knocked off Carroll of Ozark in dominating fashion 70-10.

The Trojans had seven different players get on the scoreboard in the win.

The Trojans scored 18 points in the opening quarter led by Maori Davenport’s 10 points and took an 18-3 lead into the second quarter.

The Trojans upped their performance when they added 21 more and took a 39-5 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Davenport finished the half with 16 points.

The Trojans held Carroll to three points in the third quarter and extended their already comfortable lead to 52 at 60-8.

Nala Baker scored 6 points in the quarter paired with Davenport’s 4.

The Trojans added 10 more points in the final quarter to give them the 60-point win at 70-10.

Davenport finished with a game-high 22 points in the Trojans win. Niaira Jones and Baker each finished with 10 points while Tatyana Siler and Mykyia Milton each had 8.

The Trojans will begin play in the Area 4 Tournament on February 8 when they take on the winner of Greenville and Brew Tech. Winning the regular season area title would ensure the Trojans a spot in the region tournament
