The Pike Liberal Arts boys and girls basketball teams fell in their second area game of the year to the Northside Methodist Knights on Thursday night in Dothan.

The Lady Patriots began the varsity portion of the evening with a tough 52-5 loss to the Knights to fall to 0-2 in area play. The varsity boys closed out the evening with a 69-58 loss, dropping their area record to 1-1.

Ethan Green led the varsity boys by finishing the game with a double-double consisting of 17 points and 10 rebounds. Cody Hollis and Wood Jinright each chipped in with nine points in the loss.

The Lady Patriots scored three points in the second by Shelby Renfroe and two points in the forth by Tiffany Johnson.

The Patriots look to right the ship on Tuesday when they host Edgewood.

The junior varsity teams will take part in the state tournament beginning this Saturday.
