Eagles and Trojans close out their season

The season came to a close for the Goshen Lady Eagles on Tuesday afternoon when they took part in a tri-match in Providence. The Eagles began the afternoon with a loss to Providence in straight sets 11-25, 17-25. The Eagles officially closed out the season with a win over Houston Academy 25-23, 21-25 and 15-10.

The split gives the Eagles a closing overall record of 21-12 and a perfect 6-0 area record. The Eagles virtue of finishing first in the area will host the area tournament on Monday afternoon against Elba.

On Tuesday Kelsey Gibson had one ace, four points scored, 20 kills, seven blocks and four digs. Jada Hall finished with four points scored, nine kills, four blocks and seven digs. Kate Warrick finished with 10 aces, 13 points scored, 34 assists, two blocks and 16 digs. Hannah Calhoun had two aces, eight points scored and 32 digs. Molly Wares had three aces, 10 points scored and 10 digs, while Anastasia Mallard had three kills and 14 blocks.

CHHS closes out season with tri-match

In other action the Charles Henderson Trojans also split their tri-match on Tuesday. They began the night with a loss to Geneva before coming back to beat Geneva County in straight sets.

Against Geneva Abigail Salmon had five kills, while Samira Moore had had four, Mykyia Milton had Rose Snyder had three. Snyder and Milton also each had one ace.

Against Geneva County Samira Moore had 10 kills and four aces, while Sydney Watson and Victoria Mahone each had three kills.

The Trojans will now turn their sites to the area tournament on Tuesday at Brew Tech High School.
