Lady Eagles volleyball sweeps Elba

The Goshen Lady Eagles volleyball teams swept the Elba Tigers on Tuesday night in Elba.

The junior high Eagles began the night by defeating the Tigers in three sets 21-25, 26-24 and15-12.

The junior varsity squad also went three games with the Tigers, but ultimately won by scores of 23-25, 25-19 and 18-16.

Olivia Kyzar finished with seven aces, 11 points scored 10 kills, eight assists and five digs. Lexie McLendon had one ace, five points scored, 10 kills and 12 digs. Avery Henderson ended the night with one ace, five points scored, three kills and five digs.

The varsity squad made easy work on Tuesday night by winning in straight sets 25-17, 25-8 and 25-17. The win for the Eagles improves their record on the season to 4-1 and they are 2-0 in the area.

Kelsey Gibson had one ace, three points scored, 18 kills, three digs and one block. Jada Hall finished with four aces, 10 points scored, seven kills and one dig. Kate Warrick finished with one ace, 10 points scored, one kill, 27 assists and one dig while Hannah Calhoun wrapped up the night with three aces, 12 points scored, three kills and 10 digs.

The Eagles will return to the court on Thursday when they travel to take on area foe Luverne.
