Bulldogs take care of Tigers

The Pike County Bulldogs scored 21 third quarter points in their 42-0 win over B.B. Comer in the 2017 region opener on Friday night in Sylacauga.
The win for the Bulldogs improves their record on the year to 2-0 and 1-0 in region play.
The Patriots out gained the Tigers on Friday night 344-84. 308 of the 344 total yards came on the ground for the Bulldogs compared to 36 threw the air.
The Bulldogs defense held the Tigers to 72 yards on the ground and just 12 threw the air.
Jahzarian Lampley led the Bulldogs in rushing with 73 yards on just eight attempts, good enough for nine yards a carry. Derrick Myhand finished with 72 yards while Darrick Myhand Jr. picked up 56 yards and two touchdowns. Last week’s hero Rayshawn Reynolds picked up 54 yards on six carries with one touchdown.
Quarterback Jaidyn Wilson completed four of his 10 passes for the Bulldogs for 36 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Reynolds led the way receiving with one catch for 29 yards.
The Bulldogs scored one touchdown in the each of the first two quarters on Friday night beginning with a 41-yard rushing touchdown by Reynolds to give the Bulldogs a 7-0 lead.
Zerathan Caffie made it 14-0 when he picked off a Tiger pass and took it into the end zone to make it 14-0 Bulldogs.
With the game still in doubt heading into the third quarter, the Bulldogs erased any doubt when they scored 21 third quarter points.
Darrick Myhand began the scoring on a 19-yard touchdown run and after a successful two-point conversion the Bulldogs led 22-0.
Reynolds hauled in his one and only catch of the night and turned it into a touchdown from 29 yards out. After an unsuccessful two-point try the Bulldogs held a 28-0 lead.
The Bulldogs scored their final points of the night when Darrick Myhand scored his second rushing touchdown, this one for 32 yards.
The Bulldogs took a 35-0 lead into the fourth quarter. With 3:40 remaining in the game they made it 42-0 on a 21-yard touchdown run by Kevon Harris.
The Bulldogs will be back in action next Friday night when they host Montgomery Academy beginning at 7 p.m.
