Troy Junior Dixie Boys begin World Series with convincing win over South Carolina

The Troy Junior Dixie Boys kicked off the Junior Dixie Boys World Series with a convincing 13-2 win on Saturday afternoon in Bluffton, South Carolina.
Troy fell behind 2-0 early, but scored 13 unanswered points to pick up the win.
Adrian Cardwell got the start for Troy and pitched the game’s first four innings, giving up two runs on four hits while striking out six before Noah Prestwood pitched three scoreless innings to close out the game.
Troy out hit Sumter 16-6 in the win. Daryl Lee went a perfect 5-5 with five RBIs and three runs scored. Nate Braisted and Jayden Jordan also had multi-hit games with two and four hits.
After allowing two runs in the first inning, Troy took a one-run lead in the fifth when they scored three runs. Lee had an RBI single scoring Dalton Stephens before Braisted and Kidd hit back-to-back RBI doubles.
Lee belted a two-run home run in the fifth to begin what was their second three-run inning of the game. Braised also scored in the inning on a wild pitch to give Troy the 6-0 lead.
The fifth was the first of three straight innings Troy scored a run. In the sixth they scored two more runs on a Jordan sacrifice fly and a Lee single.
Already up 8-0 after six, Troy put the final nail in the coffin with a five-run seventh inning.
Press Jefcoat drove in Cardwell on a sinlge before Jordan and Lee hit back-to-back home runs to put Troy up 13-2.
Troy will be back in action at 3 p.m. on Sunday when they take on West Seminole.
