Troy falls to Ozark in tourney

Ozark took advantage of a walk-off two-run single to defeat the Troy Dixie 14U All-Stars 4-3 in the opening game of district tournament on Friday.
“We looked OK,” said Troy head coach Eric Ernsberger. “We had runners in scoring position. We just couldn’t get them in.”
Javon Christian got the ball as Troy’s starter. He pitched into the sixth inning and picked up 14 strikeouts in his five plus innings of work.
Tripp Spivey came in with two outs in the sixth inning for Troy, but ended up taking the loss after allowing the runs in the seventh.
Troy had RBIs by Avery Ernsberger, Jackson Senn and Ben Reeves.
In all Troy left five runners in scoring position on Friday night.
After being forced into the loser’s bracket, Ernsberger and Troy look to bounce back this morning when they hit the field in Enterprise at 10 a.m.
“We just have to get back focused and come out hit the ball, get chances and get runners in scoring position,” Ernsberger said. “We have to get them in. That was our downfall tonight. We had runners in scoring position, we just couldn’t get them in. We just couldn’t get them in to score.”
