CHHS picks up area win

The Charles Henderson Lady Trojans scored five unanswered runs to defeat area foe Brew Tech 5-2 on Tuesday evening.
The win for the Trojans gives them their third area win of the season.
Tucker Earles picked up two out of the Trojans six hits on the night and she also had one RBI. Emma Kirkpatrick, Lindsey Fox, and Gracie Williams also had hits for the Trojans.
Kirkpatrick pitched all seven innings for the Trojans to earn the win. She allowed two runs, only one of which was earned on six hits and two walks. She also struck out five batters.
The Trojans fell behind 1-0 in in the first inning, but battled back to even the score in the second when Lindsey Fox scored after getting on base via the walk.
The Trojans took their first lead in the bottom of the third inning. Molly Kate Sanders reached base on an error and came around to score on a double by Kirkpatrick.
After Brew Tech tied the game in the top of the fourth, the Trojans tallied three hits to take a 5-2 lead.
Fox doubled in Sidney Armstrong and she came around to score on a Earles single. Earles came around to score the Trojans final run on an error by the catcher.
The Trojans will be back in action on Thursday when they host Rehobeth beginning at 5 p.m.
