Lady Trojans still searching for offense after loss to Lamp

The Charles Henderson Lady Trojans continued to search for their offense in a  9-0 loss to Lamp Thursday night in Troy.

The Trojans managed  just two hits.

Molly Kate Sanders took the mound as the Trojans starting pitcher. Sanders lasted five innings. She game up four runs on eight hits and she walked two.

Emma Kirkpatrick came in to close out the final two innings of play. She allowed five runs, only one of which was earned on four hits and had one strikeout. The Trojans finished with five errors.

The Trojans didn’t get their first hit until the fifth inning when Tucker Earles hit a single. Their second occurred in the seventh when Abbie Barron singled.

Both teams were held scoreless over the first two innings. From there Lamp scored three runs in the third and added two more in the fourth. After the Trojans held Lamp scoreless in the fifth, Lamp closed the door on the Trojans by scoring two runs in both the sixth and seventh inning.

The Trojans will be back in action on Monday when they travel to take on G.W. Long for a double-header beginning at 4:30.
