Lady Trojans fall in pitchers duel

Pitching proved the difference in the Charles Henderson Lady Trojans 3-0 loss to Northview on Thursday.
The Trojans managed only three hits in the game, with Emma Kirkpatrick; Gracie Williams and Abby Barron all going 1-3.
Molly Kate Sanders lasted six innings and allowed three runs on six hits and one walk, while striking out two batters.
The Cougars scored the game’s first two runs in the first inning when they had one hit, one walk and they also reached via an error.
The Trojans didn’t get their first base runner until the fourth inning when Sidney Armstrong reached first base safely on a dropped third strike by the Cougar catcher. The Trojans picked up their first hit in the fifth when Williams smacked a double.
The Cougars added another run in the fifth to bring the score to 3-0.
The Trojans had an opportunity to even the score in the seventh with two runners on base after Lindsey Fox and Abbie Barron reached on an error and a base hit. Kaitlyn Richardson came up as the potential tying run, but grounded out to the second baseman to give the Cougars the three-run win
The Trojans will be back in action this weekend when they host the Trojan Classic on Friday and Saturday.
The Charles Henderson baseball team picked up a 7-4 win over Straughn on Thursday evening.
Austin Smith picked up the win for the Trojans after throwing two scoreless innings while only allowing one hit and striking out two. The Trojans finished with 11 hits on the night led by Jackson Murphy who finished 3-4 with one run batted in. Hunter Reeves and Cason Murphree also had a multi-hit performance after picking up two hits. The Trojans will be back in action on Saturday when they take on Florence and Austin beginninga at noon.
