The Zion Chapel gave new head coach Bubba Nall his first win of the season with a 41-26 win over Central Hayneville 41-26.
The Rebels (1-1, 1-0) picked up a total of 300 yards on the night en route to their first win of the season.
“The offense we were hoping was going to come around, came around,” Nall said. “They did a good job. That was a complete win as a team.”
The Rebels picked up touchdowns by Ashton Panquin, Blake Cobb, Cody Drivas and JoJo Senn.
The Rebels were in command in the first half 20-6 until Central Hayneville scored on two special team plays to even the score heading into the half.
On the first play to start the second half, Cobb picked off a Central Hayneville pass and ran it back to the 40 yard line, setting things up for Drivas who ran the ball into the endzone to bring the score to 27-20.
“To get your first win at a place like this where they support you so much feels so good,” Nall said. “I am thankful for my kids. We truly feel like we are building things around here.
The Rebels will take their 1-1 record into next Friday’s game when they host New Brockton at 7 p.m.
