Brundidge native Ron Ingram will visit the Tupper Lightfoot Memorial Library in Brundidge today to talk about his book, “Tales from Alabama Prep Football” and working as a sports reporter.
Ingram also is the author of “Dynasty of the Diamond,” a book about former legendary baseball coach Sammy Dunn.
“He is a very talented,” said the Director of the Tupper Lightfoot Memorial Library Theresa Trawick. “He is a very talented writer and public speaker.”
Ingram grew up in Brundidge and plans to discuss how the Brundidge community impacted his life and helped him become a writer.
“The community of Brundidge help inspired me to become a writer and it had an impact in my life,” Ingram said.
Ingram is the assistant director and director of communications with the Alabama High School Athletic Association.
“Tales from Alabama Prep Football” is co-authored by Rubin Grant and is full of stories of the history of the game of football in Alabama.
“It was a really fun book,” Ingram said. “A lot of it was things that we had already written about. We wrote about family connections, dynasties and strange games.
“My favorite chapter in the book was Alabamians at the movies. It was about a lot of athletes that went on to star and play roles in the movies. That was a lot of fun.”
Ingram will be in the library at 10 a.m. to sign copies of his book.
