Pike rising senior Danielle Brown committed to Chattahoochee Valley Community College last week. Brown is ready to spend her senior year improving in advance of her freshman season.

Pike Liberal Arts rising senior Danielle Brown is excited to take her game to the next level when she attends Chattahoochee Valley Community College in Fall 2017.

The rising senior is a three-sport star for the Patriots and after a workout in the spring, CVCC head coach Steve O’ Steen elected to bring Brown on board.

“It has been very exciting,” Brown said. “With the way I was three years ago I never would have thought that I would be able to play college softball. I got to work and it paid off.”

Current Patriots head coach Scott Rollan took Brown to different college workouts and showcases throughout the summer.

“Chattahoochee Valley was actually the first one we went to,” Brown said. “I really liked it. It was a really nice school with a great coach. I knew right off the bat that it was where I wanted to go.”

The small campus of Chattahoochee Valley was an immediate selling point for Brown.

“It’s a very small campus, It’s like the Pike of junior colleges,” Brown said. “That is really good for me because I won’t get overwhelmed. It’s a very pretty campus. They have a great softball team and they are one of the top three teams in the state.”

With one more year remaining at Pike, Brown hopes her game will continue to improve.

“I hope I am well improved,” Brown said. “I want to be able to help the team out. We are going to be doing a new weight program, and I hope it will help with my hitting and my strength.”

Brown will officially sign the scholarship in the fall and she can’t wait for the opportunity to share this experience with her friends and teammates.

“I can’t wait,” Brown said. “The most exciting part will be sharing it with all my friends and with Coach Rollan. This is really good for him coming in and helping me out so much. It says a lot about him as a coach.”
