Troy head football head coach Neal Brown and the football program will host the fourth annual Trojan 101 Women’s Clinic on July 21.

Brown and his staff will peel back the curtain and allow the women of Troy to have behind-the-scenes access of the football program.

“It’s a fun event,” Brown said. “It’s an event that is really about reaching out to the women of Troy and bringing them an inside look of our football program. It’s a night that our staff and our players enjoy and look forward to.”

Participants will have a tour of newly renovated Tine Davis Fieldhouse and the coaching staff will give them a breakdown of coaching strategies.

“We try to make it educational and entertaining,” Brown said. “We want to be able to give them insight. We show them the facilities and take them through our offense and defense and what we are doing.”

Clinic participants will have an opportunity to vote on a uniform combination that the players will wear in an upcoming game this season. Participants also will enjoy heavy appetizers, drinks and a clinic t-shirt.

Perhaps one of the more popular activities of the night will be the on-field challenge where participants will be able to participate in some of the same drills that team goes through on a daily bases during practice.

“They really have a good time,” Brown said. “They really enjoy seeing and getting a better understanding of what a collegiate football player goes through.”

Troy also gets the chance to showcase its program and facilities.

“Without a doubt these facilities have come a long way,” Brown said. “Since 2014 we have come a long way. We are proud of the improvements we have made here. Anytime we have an opportunity to showoff we want to be able to take that.”

Registration will begin at 5 p.m. on July 21 at the Tine Davis Fieldhouse with the event beginning at 6 p.m. Admission is $25 and will be due at the door.
