The Troy AAA team swept two games from Eufaula on Friday and earned a berth in the sub-state championship.
Troy won the first game 12-7 finished the game with 21 hits compared to 17 by Eufaula.
Troy was able to jump out to the early lead in game one with doubles by Park Adams and Tyler Martin, giving Troy a one run lead.
Geneva came back and put three runs on the board in the bottom of the first.
Both teams went scoreless in the second inning before Troy turned up the heat in the third, scoring eight runs.
Troy added two more in the fourth inning after Adams and Martin both reached base on a double and a single.
With Troy holding a 10-3 lead Eufaula attempted to get back in the game when they brought their deficit down to 10-6, but that would be as close as they would get as Troy would score one more in the sixth and they were able to hold on and get the win.
Troy backed up game one’s performance with a 9-3 win over Eufaula in game two. Troy finished with 18 hits in game two led by Adams, Martin and John Lott who all had two hits.
Adams pitched in all six innings in the win.
With the win and the district championship the AAA team will advance to the state championship in Enterprise on July 15.
