The 2016 Bill Jackson 4-Ball Tournament is set to get underway at the Troy County Club on June 11-12.

The Bill Jackson tournament has been an annual tradition in Troy for the past 25 years, and it’s a tournament that continues to grow on a yearly basis.

“I think one year we had as many as 98 teams sign up,” said Jim Jackson, owner of Bill Jackson Chevrolet. “Everybody always has a great time.”

One of the main draws to the tournament is the four-ball format, which has been popular for the past 25 years.

“We have just stayed with the same format for I guess the last 25 years,” Jackson said. “The other clubs will change from scrambles to four-balls and back to scrambles. We have stayed with the same format and we have had the same people come back and support it year after year. A large portion of folks have played in it all 25 years.”

The tournament costs participants $110 per player with a club cart and $90 per player for those who bring their own.

Music will also be offered. On June 11, River Dan will be in the lounge from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m. Food will be served on Saturday starting at 5 p.m.

Anyone interested in participating in the tournament can call Club professional Tony Mitchell at 334-566-1169.
