Monday’s event was the culmination of years of hard work for Ellisor.

“I worked very hard,” Ellisor said.” There was a lot of blood, sweat and tears that was put into volleyball. I worked really hard for this.”

The hard work paid off during her senior season. The defensive specialist accumulated 431 digs and 41 aces.

Perhaps Ellisor’s greatest contribution came in the way of her direction while on the floor. Ellisor’s encouraging words and lessons were something that coach Amy Warrick and the Eagles came to expect.

“She is going to missed for that,” Warrick said. “She was also a cheerleader, so she brought that mentality to the volleyball court. She kept everybody up. That is so important. She will definitely be missed.”

“I love doing that,” Ellisor said. “I love being optimistic. Even when I’m down, I try to keep everyone else up by being loud. I really hope to do that when I go to Andrew. “

Andrew head coach Donna Rountree said Ellisor’s willingness to be vocal is an asset.

“She is a very strong defensive player and she is very vocal,” Rountree said. “That is going to be very important because you need someone on the court directing traffic and being the quarterback on the court.”

The one thing Ellisor will remember most about Goshen is the opportunity presented to her by her coaches.

“It’s the memories and the hard work that we all put in,” Ellisor said. “Not just from the coach or the team that I have now, but from Coach Hughes and everything she taught me before. I had two of the best coaches that I could ever ask for to help me get here.”
