The Charles Henderson Lady Trojans bats fell silent Thursday in a 4-1 loss to the New Brockton Gamecocks.

“New Brockton has a good pitcher,” said Trojan head coach Robin Snyder. “(Brittany Lee) transferred over from Enterprise last year. We knew she was going to be a good pitcher. We just didn’t do the job at the plate.”

The Trojans managed to get a couple players on base but couldn’t get the big hit when they needed it the most. The Trojans left bases loaded in the sixth and stranded runners in the seventh inning.

“We are just not hitting the ball very good,” Snyder said. “We could do a lot better job at hitting the ball.”

Molly Kate Sanders led the way for the Trojans with two hits on the night. Sidney Armstrong had the other hit for Charles Henderson.

The Lady Trojans will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to play New Brockton. The JV game begins at 5 p.m. with the varsity following.
