Shooting suspect sought

A Troy man is wanted on attempted murder charges in conjunction with an early morning shooting on Dunbar Drive.

Police say Samuel Earl Crawford, 22, of Troy, is being sought on charges of attempted murder and shooting into an occupied dwelling. Crawford, who had not been located as of 1 p.m. today, is approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds.

“He is considered armed and extremely dangerous,” said Police Chief Randall Barr.

Police believe Crawford is responsible for the shooting that took place around 12:40 a.m. today in the 200 block of Dunbar Drive.

“Upon arrival, officers found a 28-year-old black male inside a residence who had been shot in the chest,” Barr said. The victim, who has not been identified, was airlifted to a Montgomery hospital.

Barr declined to release further details of the incident, saying it remains under investigation.
