The Goshen Eagles used a fierce offensive attack in Monday night’s 12-2 win over Kinston in six innings of play to kick off the 2016 season.

“I was really pleased with them,” said Eagles head coach Amy Warrick. “I thought we hit the ball pretty well. I was pleased, I thought it went really well especially with the way they hit.”

The Eagles received a great pitching performance from starter Sydni Garrett. The freshman pitched all five innings allowing two runs on just three hits and striking out five batters.

The freshman accounted for four of the Eagles’ runs by scoring three runs and driving in another. Senior Casey Allen also had a productive night, finishing 2-4 with two runs and three RBIs.
