“We improved the last time that we played them,” said Trojans head coach Dyneshia Jones. “On the defensive side of the ball we really improved. Maori (Davenport) had a good game compared to the last time we played them.”

The Trojans carried a 25-4 lead as the game transitioned into the second quarter, when Jones began substituting from her bench. The Trojans took a 35-11 lead into the half.

“We have been working on our man defense and we played better in the first half,” Jones said. “We were able to talk and to communicate and that helped us tremendously.”

With Davenport and India Blakely on the bench for much of the second half the Lady Trojans outscored the Rebels 31-11 en route to the easy victory.

Davenport led the Trojans with 22 points, 16 rebounds and six block shots. Niaira Jones finished the night with 16 points and six steals.

The Trojans will host Eufaula on Friday in another rematch.

The game is scheduled for approximately 6 p.m.
