The Troy Tigers Sharks are swimming their way to towards their lone home meet of the 2015 regular swim season. The home meet begins at 6 p.m. today in the outdoor swimming pool at the Sportsplex.

After finishing third overall in a meet in Eufaula two weeks ago, the Tiger Sharks then traveled to Andalusia for a meet on June 9.

Before heading into their second meet of the season, head coach Idral Bowen mentioned the team’s biggest problem was their lack of being consistent with their starts as well as their turns of the wall.

“We have been practicing it a lot, and I think we will be a lot better,” Bowen said. “I think we have few winners on this team right now.”

The Tigers Sharks as a team consist of four different age groups, all of which will be in action at the Sportsplex on Thursday. The team is made up of the 8U swim team coached by Nichlaus Chrysson, the 9-10 swim team coached by Cassidy Gill, the 11-14 swim team coached by Skylar Sexton and the 15 and over age group is coached by Bowen.

The Tiger Sharks have practiced four days a week to get ready for this tournament in their hometown.

Not only will the Tiger Sharks be swimming to win the event this evening, they also hope to see a high for the district meet next month.

After the home meet this evening, The Tiger Sharks will begin preparing for a meet June 23 in Andalusia. That will be the final meet of the regular season for the Tiger Sharks.

Troy will be hosting the District Swim Meet on July 11.
