The 2015 Troy Angles have been practicing hard in preparation for the 2015 All-Star tournament schedule, getting ready to begin this weekend at the Troy Sportsplex.

Head coach Terry Garrett has coached Dixie softball for the past 14 years and loves the interaction he has with kids learning the game of softball.

“Its fun,” Garrett said. “I have been coaching for 14 years, and there is no more pleasure than the younger ones learning to play the game.”

The members of the 2015 Troy Angels include: Dakota Berry, Madison Campbell, Rayleigh Carter, Maggie English, Aeriel Frazier, Molly Garrett, Alexis Hiersche, Hayden Hubbard, Skylar kercher, Madison May, Madison May, Kaylee Navarra, and Ally Rushing.

The Angels team offers a well-balanced attack on both offense and defense, Garret said. Which is something Garrett hopes will propel the Angles to District and well beyond.

“We got decent power, and good pitching,” Garrett said.

“We play the positions really well. They are having a lot of fun together and working hard. I am very hopeful, I think we will have a pretty good team.

The girls that made the team earned their spot on the roster by playing great softball all season long.

The spot on the team gives the girls the opportunity to play with new teammates and make new friends.

“There are four teams represented in our age groups, and their girls from each team that didn’t get to play with each other this season,” Garrett said.

“So they will be able to make friends and play for a new coach. Dixie Softball is about sportsmanship and having fun.”

Before heading to the District Tournament on June 19, The Angels will participate in the Troy Warm up Tournament this weekend in at the Troy Sportsplex.

The Angels will also be participating in the Sub-District Region 1 Tournament in Luverne starting Friday, June 19.

The Angels will face off against Opp for their first match of Sub-District Tournament with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. in Luverene.
