Bullock County dominated Pike County, shutting out the Lady Bulldogs in the second and third quarters, after a slow start Tuesday on their way to a 41-16 win in the Charles Henderson Christmas Tournament.

The Lady Bulldogs began the game fast, jumping out to an early 6-3 lead over Bullock County.

But midway through the first, Pike County went cold, allowing the Hornets to narrow the lead to 6-5 to end the first quarter.

Bullock County completely dominated the second quarter, holding Pike County scoreless and taking the lead for the first time in the game at 7-6 before going into halftime up 13-6.

The Lady Bulldogs were outrebounded by the Hornets 11-8 in the first half after losing the lead, giving them very few chances to stop the rally.

In the second half, it was much of the same for the Bullock County defense.

The Hornets’ full-court press confused the Lady Bulldogs and caused turnovers which Bullock County took advantage of, outscoring Pike County 28-10 in the second half, including zero points in the third quarter.
