Vinson said that though she considered several college options, once she took her official visit to Faulkner State, her mind was made up.

“It just felt like home, like a family,” she said. “Coach (Sam) White is great and I’m looking forward to being a part of that program.”

Vinson was a member of Goshen’s 2012 team that made a state tournament run. Although the Eagles came up short, Vinson has her eyes set on making a return trip this season.

“My goal for this year is to help our team get back to the state tournament,” Vinson said. “I’m not asking to win it. I think if we make it and play like we a capable of playing, everything will work out like it should.”

Vinson has played on a big stage nearly all season. As a member of the Dothan-based Elite Lady Sox, Vinson batted .496 with 14 homeruns and 63 RBIs.

The Lady Sox finished with a record of 40-19 and won the USSSA World Series. Vinson was named to the All-World Team and struck out just five times in 121 at bats.

Vinson will play out her senior season at Goshen which begins next month.
