Fountain announced as Escambia Academy head coach
ATMORE – Escambia Academy has announced the hiring of Hugh Fountain as head football coach and athletic director.
Escambia Headmaster Betty Warren confirmed the news to The Messenger Thursday morning.
Fountain announced Tuesday that he was retiring from Charles Henderson High School after 16 years with the Trojans.
Fountain leaves Charles Henderson with a 106-67 record and 10 playoff appearances.
“We’re excited about the move,” Fountain said. “It’s going to be a totally new adventure for us. We’re going to a smaller school but we’re looking at this as something the good Lord has led us to.”
