For the Trojans to pick up a win on the road speaks volumes to where they are as a program this season.

“We tied with them the first time we played them,” Kerfoot said. “Dothan is not that far but it was the fact that we were on their soil and not ours.”

Bailey Senn and Mary Thomas Jones scored the Trojans’ goals in the first period.

“We came into the game with the mindset that we were going to win this game,” Kerfoot said. “They weren’t going to stop until the buzzer. They were going to do whatever it took to get the win.”

The key to the Trojans win was the preparation they had during practice.

“We had an aggressive practice the day before,” Kerfoot said. “We had a discussion where we realized we weren’t playing as a unit. We did some real aggressive drills to get us ready and not be afraid of getting in front of the ball.”

With the win behind them, the Trojans now look to the future.

“Hopefully we see some more wins,” Kerfoot said. “The monkey is not off our back because we don’t want to settle. We have quite a few matches to go and we don’t want to end the season with just one win.”

The Trojans hit the pitch again on Thursday when they host St. James.
