Goshen High grads gather for annual reunion

An annual Goshen High School reunion was held Saturday, July 26 at The Old Barn Restaurant. The restaurant, located just a few miles outside of Goshen on County Road 2242, opened its doors for this special event.

Those in attendance included Class 1947 graduates, Robert Drinkard, William Byron Park, Aghita Shirley Folsom and Mary W. Crowe.

Class 1948 graduates were Doris Marie Linton McCoy, Collene Witherington Mount, Eunice Knotts Borland, Rebecca Hughes Wilkes and Annabel Brabham.

Class 1949 graduate was Nadine Johnson Johnson.

Members of the graduating class of 1952 were William F. “Billy” Walters, Mora Cowart Radford, Bernard Richburg, Tom “Tommy” Shirley and Mary Warren Flowers.

Class 1954 graduates were Ann Warren McSwean and Pauline Johnson.

Attending from the Class of 1955 were Corine Tate Graves, William Robert Bryan, Nancy Cowart Brunson and Wayne Helms.

The graduates from the Class of 1956 were Gerald L. Schofield, Nancy Gibson Freeman and Alvernis Helms Galimore.

Class of 1957 graduate was Nina Schofield Fuller.

Attending from the Class of 1958 were Bessie Grissette, Shirley Massey Triplett and Earleen Folmar Carroll.

Class of 1959 graduates were James Truman Johnson, Roy Victor Messick and Kenneth Eugene “Gene” Milton.

Class of 1960 graduates were Elizabeth Norris Stump and Donald Devine.

From the Class of 1961, Margaret Warren Phipps, Nell Johnson Watkins, Mary Ann Davis Jones, Dorothy Wilkins Howard, Glenda Long Pinckard and Beverly Linton Taylor attended.

The Class of 1964 was represented by Herman Motes.

William Randall Messick represented the class of 1965.

Kathy Joyce Folmar was the representative from the class of 1968.

The total number in attendance was 60, including spouses and special guests.

A buffet meal of barbecue, camp stew, potato salad, slaw, green beans, peach cobbler, vanilla ice cream and tea was enjoyed by all.

Memories were shared and laughter abounded.
