Pike County CA3L holds 2024 Etiquette Luncheon

Pike County’s Center for Advanced Academics and Accelerated Learning (CA3L) held its 2024 Etiquette Luncheon on Thursday, March 28.

The Academy and dual enrollment sophomores took part in the luncheon, to show off their business manners and etiquette skills they honed during this school year.

In cooperation with Southeast Alabama Works and the Pike County Cooperative Extension Office, CA3L students ate lunch with local community leaders, practicing their dining etiquette and conversation skills learned from attending workshops with Katie Thomas of Southeast Alabama Works and dual enrollment facilitator Lydia Ellis.

Ellis said that she was “incredibly proud” of the positive feedback received from luncheon guests and thanked many of those guests including Quinton Blocker, Shelia Jackson, Roxie Kitchens, Gerald Nix, Cynthia Pearson, Dan Smith, Willie Williams, and Bethany Wilson for sharing their “time and wisdom.”

Ellis also thanked Dana Sanders and Thomas of Southeast Alabama Works and County Extension Coordinator Abby Peters for sponsoring the luncheon.

Better Business Manners is a core component of the CA3L Sophomore Academy and Dual Enrollment Enrichment Curriculum.
