The Colley Senior Complex will host the annual Veterans Day Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Monday in the downstairs area of the Complex on Elm Street in Troy.

Glenda Fayson, Complex office manager, said this will be the 13th year that the Colley Senior Complex has hosted the breakfast for all the veterans in the area.

“We look forward to the Veterans’ breakfast all year,” Fayson said. “There is no way that we can repay them and their families for their sacrifices. The breakfast is just a way to say, in a small way, how much we appreciate them.”

All veterans are invited to attend the breakfast in their honor. No invitations have been sent.

“We’ve been doing this for so long that we hope that we hope that everyone who has served our country or is serving will know that they are invited and welcome,” Fayson said. “There are reservations to make. Just come and share this time with fellow veterans.”

Charlie’s Angels will post the colors for the event and Shelia Jackson, Troy tourism director, will entertain with a selection of patriotic songs.

“Randy Ross, Pike County veterans’ affairs officer, will be our master of ceremonies and the Rev. Luke Lane, pastor of First Baptist Church in Troy, will give the invocation,” Fayson said. “Our featured speaker for the 2012 Veterans’ breakfast will be Command Sergeant Major Scherr Qualls of Troy who has recently returned from active duty in Afghanistan. What he will have to share will be of interest to all of us. We look forward to having him and all of our veterans with us on Monday. It will be a special time for us as we recognize and honor our veterans.”
