At approximately 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the convenience store, said Troy Police Chief Anthony Everage.

Two suspects one armed with a pistol and one armed with a knife took an undisclosed amount of money after injuring the convenience store clerk.

Everage said the clerk suffered non-life-threatening injuries after reportedly being struck in the head.

"We believe she was struck in the head with the blunt end of the knife," Everage said, adding there were no customers in the store at the time of the incident.

The clerk was transported by Haynes ambulance to Edge Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Both suspects reportedly fled on foot in the direction of the residential area behind the Amoco station.

According to reports, they went through the gate headed toward McNeil Street. It is not known their direction or mode of travel after that point.

Detectives, who were called to the scene Wednesday night, continue to investigate the case.

Since the incident, they have discovered the two males were apparently in another Troy business about 15 minutes prior to the Amoco station robbery.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call the Troy Police Department at 566-0500 or the Secret Witness Line at 566-5555.
