Two Troy men are in the Pike County Jail after they allegedly attempted to burglarize a local car dealership.

According to reports released by Troy Police Chief Anthony Everage,

Antron Jackson, 18, and Detris Folmar, 21, both of Troy, were arrested after Troy police officers responded to a call on Saturday afternoon around 12:50 p.m. that there was some suspicious activity around a car dealership located on Highway 231 north of Troy.

According to police reports, when the first officer arrived on the scene, he noticed an individual, identified as Jackson, in front of the business. The officer confronted Jackson and took him into custody, after finding what the report calls "burglary tools" on him, which were later determined to belong to the automobile dealership.

According to police reports, officers then observed a second subject, identified as Folmar, leaving the scene on foot. After confronting Folmar, officers placed him under arrest and both suspects were held pending charges, while the case was turned over to the police department’s detective division for further investigation.

At approximately 2:16 that afternoon, the police department received a report on an alleged stolen vehicle which matched the description of the 1991 Lincoln Continental which was at the car dealership where Jackson and Folmar were arrested and had been allegedly driven by the two men.

The Lincoln had been reported stolen from a automobile repair business in Troy, according to police reports.

Folmar and Jackson have each been charged with receiving stolen property first degree and burglary third, both felonies. They are each currently being held in the Pike County Jail under $10,000 bond for each charge. To be released they must pay 10 percent of each bond amount.

The incident is still under investigation.

According to Troy Police reports released by the department, officers also investigated several other attempted burglaries in the city over the weekend. "We would like to remind people to be conscious of this and make sure their residences and belongings are secure to prevent becoming victims of burglary,"
