Eva Nell Sneed

Services for Eva Nell Sneed, 60, of Brundidge who died Thursday, May 23, 2002, at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery was at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2002, at Shiloh Baptist Church with Revs. Averyt Walker and Calvin Faircloth officiating.

There was a thirty minute lie-in-state prior to the service.

Burial was in the churchyard under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge.

Visitation was from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2002, at the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband, Homer Leon Sneed of Brundidge; two sons

and their wives, Homer, Jr. and Cindy Sneed of Banks and Neal and Kathy Sneed of Brundidge; two daughters and their husbands, Cathy and Ronnie Casey of Ariton and Donna and Andy Butler of Enterprise; sister, Jean Barr Brewer of Brundidge; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces, nephews and other close relatives.

Pallbearers were Jeff Barr, Jerry Barr, Larry Revels, Alan Sneed, Terry Sneed and Tim Sneed.

Honorary pallbearers were the bus drivers of the Pike County School System.

Christopher C. Ledford

Christopher C. Ledford, 25, of Troy who died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, in Florida was at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2002, at the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with the Revs. Keith Reynolds and Joey Pettis officiating.

Burial was in Sandfield cemetery in the Sandfield community under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation was at 4 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2002, at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Christy Sasser Ledford of Troy; son, Christopher Reed Ledford of Troy; parents, Raymond and Cherry Ledford of Troy; two brothers and their wives; Raymond and Sharon Ledford

and Cliff and Angie Ledford both of Troy; grandmother; Catherine Austin; sister-in-law, Jenny and Horace Tillery of Troy; aunts, Myra Brooks and Jackie Johnston; six uncles, James (Red) Austin, Wyatt Austin, Lyndon Austin, Charlie, Ronald, and Otis (Fuzz)

Ledford; six nieces, Amberle Riley, Mary Kate Tillery, Paige Tillery, Brittany Tillery and Brittany Ann and Brooke Lee Ledford, three nephews, Mark and Justin Rhodes and Alan Tillery.

Honorary pallbearers were fellow employees at Colonial Bread Company.

Luther Frank Scarbrough

Services for Luther Frank Scarbrough, 89, who died Friday, May 24, 2002, at Pike Manor Health Care Center will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2002, at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Rev. Mack Lowery and Dr. Ed. Walter officiating.

Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2002, at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lessie Scarbrough; son, Louie Scarbrough; and a son-in-law Ben Mailhot.

Survivors include a daughter, Janie Mailhot of Smith Station; daughter-in-law Dean Scarbrough of Troy; grandchildren, Gary and Donna Mailhot of Columbus, Ga.; Mike and Anne Mailhot of Ellersie, Ga., Melissa Scarbrough of Troy and Frank and Joy Scarbrough of Troy; and eight grandchildren, Ashley, Ryan, Zachary, Madison, Jenna, Drake, Emily Grace and Lawson.

Pallbearers will be the nephews.

William "Coot" Smith

William "Coot" Smith, 77, 106 Azalea Court, Troy, died Saturday, May 25, 2002, at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery.

Services will be held Monday, May 27, 2002, at 10 a.m. from Riverview Baptist Church in Troy with the Pastor Malone Chandler officiating.

Burial will follow in Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2002, at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy.

He was born Oct. 1, 1924, in Pike County to the late James Authur Smith and the late Willie Estelle Bowden. He received his high school diploma and worked in automobile sales and service and the automotive industry. He was retired and was a member of Troy Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

Survivors include: one son, William Edward Smith, Jr. of Troy; one daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Kurt Henderson of troy; a grandson, Phillip Kurt Henderson of Troy; a grandaughter, Mary Ann Henderson; a grandaughter and husband, Joanna and Chas Taylor, all of Troy; one brother, Moon Smith of Troy; nieces, Lucille Blair of Troy; Deborah Gail Pewitt of Birmingham; nephews, Arthor Smith of Fairhope; Dan Smith of Troy; Ben Smith, D.O., of Troy.

Pallbearers will be Author Smith, Dan Smith, Ben Smith, Phillip Henderson and Chas Taylor.
