John Howell

John R. Howell, age 78, of Brundidge, formerly of Goshen, died Friday, December 16, 2011 in Luverne.  Services will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Dr. Malone Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing. Visitation will be held Monday, December 19, 2011 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtice Howell of Brundidge; son and daughter-in-law, Tracy and Karen Howell of Jacksonville, daughter and son-in-law, Dawna H. and Mike Williams of Troy; step children, Bobby and Donna Stephens of Highland Home, Teresa Stephens of Brundidge, and Michelle and Johnny Fox of Millbrook;  special nieces, Mary Helms (Paul) Bozeman and Barbara Helms (Gary) Sessions; grandchildren, Emily Williams, Connor Howell, Kaitlin Howell, Derrick Fincher, Josh Fincher, Kaitlin Stephens, Austin Stephens, Hunter Fox, Lakyn Fox, and Wesley Stephens; great nieces  and nephews, Elizabeth and William Outlaw, Dana and Dennis Logel, Heath and Hannah Bozeman, and Jamie Sessions; and cousin, Billy Howell.

Mr. Howell was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jefferson and Cora Mae Reeves Howell; sister, Emily Jane Howell Helms; and great nephew, Daniel Paul Bozeman.
