Gerotha Head

Services for Gerotha Head, 82, of Troy who died Tuesday, April 15, 2003, at his home will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 18, at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Rev. Don Grantham officiating.

Burial will be in Antioch Church of Christ Cemetery in the Shellhorn Community under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at the funeral home.

Mr. Head was preceded in death by a grandson, Kelly Baxter and a brother, Paul Head.

Survivors include his wife, Grace Head of Troy; four daughters and their husbands, Judy and Stan Baxter, Hope and Willie Burgans Wilkes and April Mills all of Troy and Jan and Kevin Upchurch of Millbrook; four sons and their wives, Richard and Diane Head of Hover, Ronnie and Emily Head and Randy Head of Troy and Curtis and Delma Carter of Wetumpka; two sisters, Frances Sanders of Montgomery and Sara Atwell of Louisville; brother and his wife, Calvin and Etha Head of Troy; sister-in-law, Virginia Head of Columbus; grandchildren, Mandy, Karen, Jennifer, Christy, Jeff, Mark, Justin, Curt and Adam; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family requests memorials be made to Wiregrass Hospice or the Veterans Administration.

Woodrow Wilson Messick

Graveside services for Mr. Woodrow Wilson Messick, 90, who died Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at Pike Manor Nursing Home, will be held Friday, April 18, at 10 a.m. at Joquin Baptist Church Cemetery with The Rev. Jerry Wilkes officiating.

Visitation will be at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Thursday, April 17, from 6--8 p.m.

Mr. Messick was preceded in death by his wife, Lille Mae Messick.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Ann Messick of Goshen; two daughters and son-in-law, Shirley Ann Vickers of Eclectic and Joyce and Ron Richardson of Martinez, Ga.; two sisters, Syble Watson of Patsburg and Jewel Taylor of Luverne; nine grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers are David Messick, James Luther Messick, Ken Messick, Parker Messick, Raymond Messick, and Ricky Messick.

Gina Larissa Michie

Gina Larissa Michie, age 32 of Troy, died Monday, April 14, 2003, at her home. Funeral Services were Wednesday, April 16, at 2 p.m. from the Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Rev. Don Grantham officiating. Burial was in the Sandfield Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing. Visitation was Tuesday, April 15, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

After battling Multiple Sclerosis for many years, Gina has departed for a new life with our Heavenly Father. Gina was a resident of Jeffersonville, Ga.. for several years before returning to her family home in Troy. Gina was a 1989 graduate of Twiggs county High School in Jeffersonville. After high school she briefly served in the United States Navy. Gina's courageous attitude while dealing with her illness was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Gina is survived by: two mothers and father, Charlotte and David Hussey of

Troy; Gay Culpepper Michie of Troy; father and step-mother, Terry and Karen Michie of Pennsylvania; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Celes and Paul Mason of Milledgevill, Ga., and Jennifer and Joe Kowalski of Gaithersburg, Md.; brother Jonathan Michie of Chicago, Ill.; special friend, Glenda Blackmon of Brundidge; several nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles, Julia and Harmon Hutchinson of Troy, Brenda and Pete Drobeck of Arizona, Sherry and Guy Laniel of Florida; and grandmother, Betty Lou Michie of Arizona.

Gina was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lola and George Yu, John R. Michie and C.W. Culpepper.

Memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
