James Daniel Mordecai

James Daniel Mordecai, 47 of Troy died at his home Tuesday, April 5, 2005. A Memorial Service will be held at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Brundidge, Saturday, April 16, 2005 at 1:00 PM with Reverend Bobby Hood officiating.  Survivors include his mother and step-father, Virginia and Larry Hart, Ozark; brother, Steve Brown, Alliance; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. The family request that memorials be made to one's favorite charity.

Services for Patricia Jean Nicholson, 64, of Brundidge who died Thursday, April 14, 2005 at Troy Regional Medical Center will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2005 at Ramah Primitive Baptist Church on Highway 29 in Josie with Revs. Lavon Singleton and Billy Fortune officiating. She will lie in state for one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Skeen Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2005 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Nicholson was born January 31, 1941 in Pike County. She was a retired dispatcher from the Brundidge Police Department.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah Williams and Lorine Singleton Williams.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, Sammy and Lisa Wentland of Brundidge, Henry Wentland and Richard and Marie Wentland of Josie; 1 want to be son, Keith Oakes of Troy, three daughters and their husbands, Beverly Kay and Alan Andress of Troy, Dorothy and Jeff Coker of Hartford and Shelby Senn of Troy and several grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Dell Carroll Hickman

Services for Dell Carroll Hickman, 57, of Chandler, Texas who died Sunday, April 10, 2005 will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 16 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Rev. Ray Stinson officiating.

Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Troy with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, April 15 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hickman was born April 24, 1947 in Dale County. She attended Charles Henderson High School and Troy State College. Mrs. Hickmam was a real estate agent and was a member of Bush Memorial Baptist Church in Troy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Lovie Carroll.

Survivors include her husband, Sam Hickman of Chandler, Texas; son and his wife, Ashley Thomas and Amy Waller of Little Elm, Texas; daughter, Sheri Hensley of East Alton, Illinois; grandchildren, Patrick and Sidney of East Alton; step children, Sherrie Feagin and

Karen Thompson of Surfaceside, Texas ; step grand-children; Rachel, Brittany, Julia, Chelsa and Sam; step great-grandchild, Cherrie; brother and his wife, Dunn and Debbie Carroll of Cape Canaveral, Florida; sister and her husband, Susan and Lynn Marsh of Winter Haven, Florida; aunts, Sarah Keeler of Montgomery and Cindy Dunaway of Enterprise.

Pallbearers are Johnny Dunaway, Eddie Dunaway, Kyle Dunaway, Leon Waller, Chase Waller and J. R. Waller.

Lois Wilson Knotts

Services for Lois Wilson Knotts, 83, of Troy who died Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at her home will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2005 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Revs. Don Hatcher and John Pfneisel officiating.

She will lie in state for one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in Mossy Grove Cemetery under the direction of Skeen Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, April 14 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Knotts was born January 22, 1922 in Pike County. She was a retired textile worker. She was a member of Hephzibah Baptist Church and was a RSVP senior volunteer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleve Knotts; parents, Willis Clemmie Wilson and Sarah Elizabeth Mills Wilson; brothers, Tom and Willis "Brother" Wilson and a sister; Eunice Jinright.

Survivors include her children, James Ronnie and Angie Knotts of Dothan, Elizabeth and James Motes of Troy, Elaine and John Pfneisel of Panama City, Florida and Donnie R. Knotts of Troy; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Shirley and Margie Knight both of Troy and a sister-in-law, Dixie Wilson of Troy.

Pallbearers will be Brian Knotts, Chris Knotts, Greg Motes, Rodney Manning, Roger Manning and Ryan Pfneisel.

Honorary pallbearers are Friends of the Colley Senior Center in Troy.

Gladys McLeod Shirley

Gladys McLeod Shirley, 85, of Troy, died at her home Wednesday, April 13, 2005. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Friday, April 15, 2005

from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy on Saturday, April 16, 2005 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Alan McBryde officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing. The pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. Survivors include, two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Mary Shirley of Brundidge, and James M. and Sandra Shirley of Troy;

four grandsons, Jay and Sonya Shirley, Andy Shirley, Adam and Julie Shirley, and James Shirley;

great grandchildren, Daniel and Samantha Shirley, Savannah and Matthew Shirley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Shirley and her parents, James A. and Manie G. McLeod.
