Pearline Rogers

Services for Pearline Rogers, 78, who died July 22, 2006 at Troy Health and Rehabilitation Center will be at 2 p.m. July 29 at Helicon Missionary Baptist Church in Helicon with Rev. Fred Lowery officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12 until 5 p.m. July 28 at the funeral home.

She was born July 25, 1927 in Bradelton. She was a housekeeper and a member of Helicon Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, talking on the phone and helping others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Dora Rogers.

Survivors include 3 daughters and their husbands, Dora and Billy Dixon and Florence and Bob May both of Troy and Doris and Tommie Murril of Detroit, Michigan; 2 sons and their wives, James and Canary Matthews of Detroit and Jimmie and Louise Rogers of Luverne; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Lawrence Owen Windham

Lawrence Owen Windham, 84, a resident of Banks died Saturday, July 22, 2006. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 24 at Ebenezer Baptist Church on Highway 223. Interment followed in the church cemetery. He lay in state for an hour prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Windham was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie V. and Emma D. Windham and his son, Charles M. Windham.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Gladys Morgan Windham of Banks; son, and his wife, Larry and Harriet Windham of Saraland; daughters and husband, Ann and Mac Seay of Banks and Mary Shiver of Mt. Hope; grandchildren, Ken and Tonya Windham of Saraland, Janet and Mary Jackson of Greenville, Rhonda and Jeff Thornton of Suwanee, Georgia and Matthew and Tasha Seay of Dothan; great-grandchildren, Kenny and Baylee Windham, Mason and Sara Thornton, Hayley Jackson and Wayne Seay, Jr.
